Yesterday I realized that I had a rash breakout on my face, neck and shoulders. I really do not know what caused the rash. But ain't I glad I have content. It's been a minute since I wrote one of these. As the title suggests, it is aloe vera for your skin. I have heard and experienced the wonders of this succulent from childhood. Kwa nyumba yetu ungesema unaumwa na tumbo ama meno, you had better be prepared for its bitterness. It works wonders, but that is a whole different post. Leo tunafocus on skin. Protect yourself!

Image
I have never been a believer in 'haters'. Ama is it the word itself? I am yet to fully understand. Either way, I know of people who literally dislike others simply because of their existence. And it has never really made sence to me. I find it crazy that I have experienced said negativity in my own life to its extreme, yet I don't believe in 'haters'? Some people out here will go to whatever extent to see you in hell with them. How ignorant of me! I started writing this yesterday afternoon but I couldn't find the best fit words. Even the title was so different. And when I went online in the evening I found something very interesting. When you need the information, it will surely present itself to you. Attached are screenshots of @swiry_nyar_kano instagram stories yesterday: There it was, this piece had written itself. Protect yourself always, ACTIVELY and LOUDLY! Prevention is better than cure, or whatever they say. Peace❤

Because the best is yet to come.

Nilikuwa nafikiria. And I came to realize that I have been taking lightly the meaning to proverbs, vitendawili, kina mababu walisema and all that. Here is one that I really got to ponder over today morning.  "Where there is will, there is a way".  Do you know how many times we forget how literal this statement is?!! Life tends to bombard us left right and center and we hypnotically fall for the illusions. Let me not even start on the opium that is religion and its misinterpreted teachings on the way of life.  We get too immersed in the 'misery', the 'chaos' and forget to see the million other things that could just maybe go better than your current situation.  Ni kama vile kwa End Game, Doctor Strange saw so many other ways that they could kill Thanos and win the war, but the path most preferred was the death of Tony Stark. Why? Because that is the direction that held the highest probability of survival and peace for the collective good. When your life starts...

I Now See

I want to see the matrix falls all around me and my truth comes to life I want to live in the fields of green and yellow and pink I want to sing with the birds and the bees with the waters and the wind I want to explore beyond all boundaries and boarders within and without I want to heal with the plants and the trees and the earth and the skies I want to experience the oneness that is the universe and all its things I want to see the matrix falls all around me and my truth comes to life 😗

When the Bough Breaks

It's been a while since I put my thoughts into words. So let's journal😂. The wheels in my head have been at a constant acceleration mode. It is official, I tend to over think a lot. You would think that I would be at a full understanding of this part of my mind by now lakini heh!  I have been very careful with my choice of words for this post. Because I am intentionally working towards separating the 'I' from 'self'. Illustration, when you observe something or someone that makes you feel angry or happy or sad, you are not angry or happy or sad, you feel  that way but you are not that way. Which brings me to the whole point of when the bough breaks... (complete the proverb, 3 mrks) For the longest I have prided myself as a perfectionist. It has always been the one thing that I have to mention as a strength, as well as a weakness. However, I still did not have the realization I have now.  Hear me out; what are the odds that I need to think and act a certain way t...

Bananas for Moisturized Skin.

Image
You see those overripe bananas that you just find hard to get down your throat, you do not need to throw them. We are not wasteful here. Ripe bananas are a very versatile fruit. You can make banana bread (recipe coming up very soon) or you can use it for skin, which is our focus today. It is a very easy DIY face mask.  How to... In a bowl place a peeled banana. Using a fork, mash it until consistent. Optional; add in a quarter teaspoonful of turmeric powder.  * personally I prefer the fresh turmeric, pound it like ginger and add it to your banana. * this process can get messy if you are clumsy, so does the application process. do not forget that turmeric stains fabric. Benefits of banana on skin. 1. Moisturizes and hydrates skin. even from the texture, you can just tell that the mask is very hydrating. this is because of the potassium in it.  2. Maintains skin elasticity. The banana mask nourishes the skin and restores strength thus smoothing out aging skin. With t...

Rosemary for Hair.

Image
All-natural everything, huh? So when I plaited my braids my scalp was a little bit itchy, and I don't know why. Since products are pricey I decided to go back to what I had learned during the lockdown. Rosemary is quite affordable around where I stay, so that is what I went with. And it's fresh too. I wish I took pictures of the whole process, next time I will. But thank goodness it's not that complex nor with a lot of steps. So I guess this short article will do just fine.   Benefits of rosemary for your hair (from my experience). 1. Relieves irritated scalp. I have sprayed the rosemary water on my scalp for close to a week and a half now, everyday and it is no longer itchy. Rosemary water is refreshing to your scalp and hair, as much as it is aromatic thus good for aromatherapy- which is a plus. Aaaand, you can also use it to soothe dry, flaky scalp and dandruff . 2. Increases sheen. You know there is a difference between sheen and shine. there are times that you can loo...
