Rosemary for Hair.

All-natural everything, huh?

So when I plaited my braids my scalp was a little bit itchy, and I don't know why. Since products are pricey I decided to go back to what I had learned during the lockdown.

Rosemary is quite affordable around where I stay, so that is what I went with. And it's fresh too. I wish I took pictures of the whole process, next time I will. But thank goodness it's not that complex nor with a lot of steps. So I guess this short article will do just fine.

Benefits of rosemary for your hair (from my experience).
1. Relieves irritated scalp. I have sprayed the rosemary water on my scalp for close to a week and a half now, everyday and it is no longer itchy. Rosemary water is refreshing to your scalp and hair, as much as it is aromatic thus good for aromatherapy- which is a plus.

Aaaand, you can also use it to soothe dry, flaky scalp and dandruff .

2. Increases sheen. You know there is a difference between sheen and shine. there are times that you can look at somebody's hair and it looks so radiant and beautiful with a certain glow, not necessarily the reflection of the oils or products he/she uses. That is sheen. Rosemary water makes my hair look beauuutiful and healthy, I swear.

3. Gentle cleanser. You know that feeling you get when you have a cold then maybe you inhale peppermint or eucalyptus essence that relieves your congestion, that is how your scalp feels after spraying some rosemary water. As you gently massage it in you feel calm and weirdly, your hair feels clean. Rosemary has antioxidant properties that gently cleanse your scalp leaving it feeling refreshed.

          How to...

Add in a sufuria as much rosemary as you want with enough water. Cover and simmer on low heat for not more than 1 hour.

Let it cool down, sieve out the leaves and store in airtight jar or spray bottle.

Hivyo tu😁

With that said, why would I pour out the rest of the rosemary water if I made too much? Catch me dead! I am from an African home, nothing goes to waste. The good thing is, a batch can go for up to two weeks with refrigeration or just under cool and airtight conditions.

You can add a few drops of essential oils too.

PS: Not everything works for everyone the same way. Try out things to find what works best for you.
