FOMO!
February... uweeeeeh. Hata sio February tu, I guess ni 2022.
You know that time you are chilling on your phone ukiview status, internet inabuffer so it's just pass, pass, be patient a little, pass. Then there is a particular status or story that catches your attention. And you just want to knooooow, you have to know. So you choose to wait for it to load. At first, you view it out of curiosity. Then you start replaying it, and you replay it, and you replay it. You are in denial, a little bit of the green monster.
FOMO then hits you hard. You start comparing. If you are like me, it calls for a deep dive into the internet🧐. You want to know how often does the particular situation happen in their life. And you want to find out what it is they do that you do not. It becomes a whole lingering, in most cases overbearing, feeling that just eats you from the inside. Unfortunately, we more often than not let it take over us.
I vowed to be very intentional this year. Have I been handed a run for my money...eeeeei!!!! Yaani maisha za watu zinasonga na yako iko the same. People are going out to places that you only see on the influencer's pages and you are seated at home like, aki mnatoa wapi pesa za kufanya hizi vitu. It's not always about the money though, but I feel like that is the most relatable example. You end up thinking that you are not doing enough or you are not worthy and all the other crazy thoughts and feelings that are not even relevant at that particular moment.
But, we stand by our intentions this year. To work hard, to stay positive, to always be intentional, and to trust the process always. The Fear of Missing Out should not prevent you from going for what you want nor should it cripple you totally in those moments that you are unable to avoid it.
...for every dog has its day. (write a composition with the ending😂)
